Continental Cup: December 15-17
Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club hosted the 2017 Steamboat Ski Town U.S.A. FIS Continental Cup Dec. 15 to 17, 2017. This exciting event has attracted top countries in the world, including Japan, Germany and Norway, to send their high level International/World Cup level competitors, making these competitions among the highest level Steamboat Springs has ever hosted. Competitors ages 16-28 competed against each other in the same class, with several athletes flying off the HS75 up to 250 feet through the air. After jumping, competitors skied a 10-kilometer cross-country race at Howelsen Hill, starting in the rodeo grounds.
Steamboat has a long history of hosting premier Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined events, but has not hosted an international event of this caliber since 2010, making this a unique and special opportunity to view the sport of Nordic Combined in person.
